Shooting Food—It doesn't have to all look the same
Taking photos of food and beverage is fun for me. I’ve worked with different restaurants taking images for their products, and I realized that food can also have emotions and does not need to be run of the mill or boring. Maybe I’m too picky, but seeing commercialized images and over-exposed images of food do not do it for me. Food and drink are usually rich. Rich in color, rich in flavor, and rich in presentation. Why not shoot it that way?
The images below were all taken with simple window light. Simplicity is best when shooting food. Remember that.
